About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and responsible Livestock Technician to join their farm operations team in Portsmouth . This essential role involves the daily care and management of farm animals, ensuring their health, welfare, and productivity. You will work closely with the farm management to implement feeding programs, monitor animal health, and maintain a clean and safe environment. Key Responsibilities

• Administer feed and supplements to livestock according to prescribed schedules.
• Monitor animal health, observing for signs of illness or injury and reporting concerns promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in animal housing, ensuring a healthy environment.
• Assist with basic veterinary procedures and treatments as directed.
• Record keeping of feed consumption, animal health observations, and production data.
• Operate farm machinery for tasks such as mucking out and feed distribution.

Requirements

• Previous experience in livestock handling or animal care, preferably in a farm setting.
• A good understanding of animal husbandry and welfare principles.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and working in various weather conditions.
