Logistics Coordinator - FMCG

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Coordinator to manage the efficient movement of goods within their extensive FMCG supply chain , based in Nottingham . This role is critical for ensuring timely delivery of products to customers and maintaining optimal inventory levels. You will be responsible for coordinating transportation, managing warehouse operations, and working closely with suppliers and carriers to ensure smooth logistical flow. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of logistics principles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding FMCG environment .

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation scheduling and freight management.
• Liaise with shipping carriers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and internal teams to ensure efficient operations.
• Monitor shipment status, track deliveries, and proactively address any delays or issues.
• Manage warehouse operations, including inventory control, stock rotation, and order fulfillment processes.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, expenses, and performance metrics.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics, supply chain coordination, or a similar operational role, preferably within the FMCG sector .
• Strong understanding of transportation modes, warehousing, and inventory management principles.
• Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders in Nottingham .
