About the Role
Our client seeks a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to manage and streamline their transportation and delivery operations in Edinburgh . This role is central to ensuring the efficient movement of goods, coordinating schedules, and maintaining effective communication between drivers, customers, and internal departments. You will be instrumental in optimising logistics processes, resolving issues, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery solutions within the Scottish market. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily delivery schedules, assigning routes and ensuring efficient use of fleet resources.
- Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing them with necessary information and support throughout their routes.
- Monitor shipments and deliveries in real-time, proactively addressing any delays or issues that may arise.
- Liaise with sales, warehouse, and customer service teams to ensure seamless communication and coordinated efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery confirmations, and operational data using logistics software .
- Assist in managing inventory levels and ensuring timely replenishment through effective transport planning.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a logistics or transportation coordination role.
- Familiarity with dispatch systems and route planning tools.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the Edinburgh and surrounding areas road network is beneficial.
