About the Role
Our client is seeking an organized and proactive Logistics Coordinator to manage and oversee their supply chain and transportation operations. This hybrid role involves managing logistics activities both on-site at their Norwich facility and remotely, ensuring efficient movement of goods. You will be responsible for coordinating shipments, managing carrier relationships, optimizing transportation routes, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all inbound and outbound logistics activities, including shipping, receiving, and warehousing.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with transportation carriers, brokers, and third-party logistics providers.
- Optimize transportation routes and modes to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor shipment progress, track inventory movements, and resolve any logistical issues or delays proactively.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, customs requirements, and documentation.
- Maintain accurate logistics records and prepare reports on transportation costs, delivery performance, and inventory levels.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in logistics coordination, transportation management, or supply chain operations.
- Strong understanding of logistics processes, carrier management, and shipping regulations.
- Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage tasks both remotely and on-site effectively.
