Logistics Coordinator

About the Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join their team based in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be responsible for the efficient planning and execution of transportation and delivery schedules, ensuring goods reach their destinations on time and within budget. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple logistics channels. You will work closely with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to streamline the movement of goods and maintain high levels of customer service. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and track shipments, ensuring timely delivery and collection of goods.
• Manage relationships with transport providers, negotiating rates and ensuring service level agreements are met.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs forms.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in demand forecasting.
• Resolve any logistical issues or disruptions promptly and efficiently.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners regarding shipment status.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Logistics Coordinator or similar role.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and supply chain principles.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in relevant software, such as MS Office Suite.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a team.
