Logistics Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Logistics Operations Manager to lead their warehouse and transportation functions in Birmingham . You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of logistics operations, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate a team, optimize processes, and maintain high standards of performance. You will play a key role in strategic planning for logistics, balancing operational demands with long-term business objectives. This hybrid position offers the flexibility to manage your work remotely for a portion of the week while being present on-site to oversee critical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily logistics operations, including receiving, warehousing, order fulfillment, and dispatch.
• Develop and implement operational plans to meet performance targets and KPIs for efficiency and cost.
• Manage and mentor a team of warehouse staff and logistics coordinators, fostering a culture of safety and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the warehouse.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless supply chain integration.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement in all logistics functions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics management, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and transportation management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
• Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant logistics software.
• Ability to manage hybrid work responsibilities, balancing remote tasks with on-site supervision.
