About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Logistics Operations Supervisor to manage their busy distribution hub in Leeds . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of logistics operations, including inbound and outbound shipments, inventory management, and team supervision. You will be responsible for optimising workflows, maintaining high standards of accuracy, and leading a team of logistics professionals to meet operational targets. This position requires a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of warehouse and transport coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse and transport staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Oversee the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring accuracy and adherence to schedules.
• Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and implement strategies for inventory optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the warehouse and transport operations.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the logistics department and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Liaise with suppliers, carriers, and other departments to resolve operational issues and improve service delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within logistics or warehouse operations.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and transport planning.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a logistics environment.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
