Logistics Operative

About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and physically capable Logistics Operative to join their busy distribution center in Plymouth . This role is essential for the efficient handling and movement of goods within the FMCG supply chain . You will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching orders accurately and safely. This is a hands-on role for an individual who is comfortable with manual tasks and thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment, contributing to the timely delivery of products to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive incoming goods, verifying quantities and quality against orders and delivery notes.
• Store products appropriately in the warehouse, ensuring optimal organization and stock rotation (e.g., FIFO).
• Accurately pick and pack orders for dispatch according to customer requirements and shipping schedules.
• Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts or pallet trucks, safely and efficiently (if certified).
• Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring secure placement of goods.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment within the warehouse, adhering to health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role, preferably within the FMCG sector .
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Good organizational skills and a keen eye for detail to ensure order accuracy.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is an advantage.
• A strong commitment to health and safety protocols in the workplace.
• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
