About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and forward-thinking Logistics Planner to join their team in Brighton . This hybrid role requires a candidate who can effectively plan and coordinate transportation routes and schedules, ensuring the efficient movement of goods while balancing cost and delivery time. You will work closely with carriers, warehouse teams, and customer service to optimize logistics operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving within the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule transportation routes and delivery times to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Coordinate with carriers to book shipments and ensure timely pick-up and delivery of goods.
- Monitor shipment progress and provide real-time updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Analyze logistics data to identify potential improvements in routing, scheduling, and carrier performance.
- Ensure all transportation activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Liaise with warehouse operations to ensure smooth flow of goods and timely loading/unloading.
Requirements
- Previous experience in logistics planning or transportation coordination.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and route optimization software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex logistics data.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with carriers and internal teams.
- Knowledge of supply chain principles and best practices in transportation.
