Logistics Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking an organized and proactive Logistics Planner to join their team in Bristol . This role is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the movement of goods, ensuring efficient transportation routes, and managing carrier relationships. You will play a key role in the supply chain by planning shipments, tracking deliveries, and resolving any logistical challenges to ensure timely and cost-effective operations. This position offers the chance to contribute to a robust logistics network in the South West, with the benefit of a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule inbound and outbound logistics operations to meet business needs.
• Identify and select appropriate transportation modes and carriers to optimize cost and delivery times.
• Track shipments in real-time and provide updates to internal teams and customers.
• Negotiate freight rates and contracts with transportation providers.
• Analyze logistics data to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Logistics Planner , Dispatcher, or in a similar logistics role.
• Strong understanding of transportation management systems (TMS) and supply chain principles.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel for data analysis.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
