Logistics Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and proactive Logistics Planner to join their dynamic, fully remote team. Operating from a remote base, ideally near Reading , you will be responsible for optimizing the flow of goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation. This role requires a deep understanding of supply chain networks, route planning, and carrier management. You will play a key part in enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction through meticulous planning and execution. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced logistics professional to contribute significantly from a remote work setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement optimal transportation plans to meet delivery schedules and cost objectives.
• Select and manage relationships with transport carriers, negotiating rates and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve any logistical challenges or delays.
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
• Collaborate with internal departments, such as sales and warehouse, to align logistics plans with business needs.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and documentation requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics planning, transportation management, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of transportation modes, routing, and supply chain dynamics.
• Proficiency in logistics planning software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, essential for remote collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
