About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and proactive Logistics Planner to join their team, supporting operations based in Reading . This role is central to ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods, requiring strategic planning of transportation routes, schedules, and resource allocation. You will work closely with carriers, warehouses, and internal stakeholders to optimize the supply chain and meet delivery targets. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and optimize transportation routes, schedules, and load configurations to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
• Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure timely and reliable movement of goods.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any deviations or potential disruptions.
• Manage logistics capacity and resources to meet operational demands and service level agreements.
• Analyze logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Prepare reports and provide insights on logistics performance, costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics planning , transportation management, or supply chain coordination.
• Strong understanding of transportation modes, routing software, and network optimization principles.
• Proficiency in logistics management software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel for analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills for working with carriers and internal teams.
• Ability to manage complex logistical challenges in a dynamic environment.
