About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Logistics Planner to join their dynamic team in Leeds, West Yorkshire . In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and optimizing transportation routes, scheduling deliveries, and ensuring the efficient movement of goods throughout the supply chain. You will work closely with various stakeholders to forecast demand, manage carrier relationships, and resolve logistical challenges. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical individual to contribute to critical operational decisions and drive efficiency within a key logistics function, offering a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize daily and weekly transportation schedules to meet delivery commitments.
- Analyze transportation data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve route efficiency.
- Coordinate with carriers to book freight, track shipments, and resolve any transit issues.
- Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, costs, and performance metrics.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential disruptions to the supply chain.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Logistics Planner or in a similar transportation planning role.
- Strong understanding of transportation modes, routing software, and supply chain principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and logistics management software.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for managing carrier relationships.
