Logistics Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Logistics Planner to join their fully remote team, focusing on optimizing transportation and delivery networks across the UK. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods, requiring a strategic approach to planning and execution. You will analyze various logistics data points, coordinate with carriers, and implement solutions to enhance delivery performance and reduce transit times. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize transportation plans to meet delivery schedules and cost targets.
• Select and manage third-party logistics providers, negotiating rates and service level agreements.
• Monitor shipment progress, identify potential delays, and implement contingency plans.
• Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for route optimization and cost reduction.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including sales and operations, to coordinate logistics activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics planning , transportation management, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of transportation modes, networks, and international shipping regulations.
• Proficiency in logistics planning software and TMS (Transportation Management Systems).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively and autonomously in a remote setting.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external partners.
