About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Logistics Planner to join their operational team in Portsmouth . This role requires you to be fully on-site , managing the intricate details of transportation and delivery schedules. You will be instrumental in optimizing delivery routes, coordinating with hauliers, and ensuring that goods reach their destinations efficiently and on time. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, playing a crucial part in the company's supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize daily delivery routes and schedules for maximum efficiency.
• Coordinate with a network of hauliers and transport providers to book necessary services.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any delays or disruptions.
• Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities and costs.
• Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure smooth loading and unloading operations.
• Analyze transportation data to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.

Requirements

• Experience in logistics planning , route optimization, or transport coordination.
• Strong understanding of transportation management systems (TMS) and road freight operations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy, on-site logistics office in Portsmouth .
