About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and organized Logistics Planner to join their team in Portsmouth . This role is central to the efficient planning and execution of transportation and delivery schedules. You will be responsible for coordinating with carriers, managing shipment schedules, and ensuring that goods are transported cost-effectively and on time. This hybrid role requires a blend of on-site coordination and remote strategic planning, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic logistics environment and can manage complex scheduling challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule domestic and international shipments, optimizing routes and modes of transport for cost and efficiency.
• Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth transit of goods.
• Monitor shipment progress, identify potential delays, and implement contingency plans to mitigate risks.
• Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including manifests, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
• Maintain accurate logistics data and provide regular reports on shipment performance and costs.
• Liaise with customers and internal departments to resolve any transportation-related issues or inquiries.

Requirements

• Previous experience in logistics planning , transportation coordination, or a similar role.
• Solid understanding of transportation modes, shipping regulations, and supply chain operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using logistics planning software and standard office tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model , managing tasks both on-site and remotely.
