About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and organized Logistics Planner to join their dedicated team in Stoke-on-Trent . This critical role focuses on optimising the movement of goods, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions are in place. You will be responsible for planning daily delivery schedules, coordinating with drivers and transport providers, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly transport plans to meet delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams, drivers, and external transport partners to ensure smooth execution of logistics plans.
- Monitor shipments in transit, providing updates and resolving any issues or delays promptly.
- Ensure all transportation activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all planned movements, costs, and delivery performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency and reduce costs through effective planning.
Requirements
- Previous experience in logistics planning, scheduling, or a related transportation role.
- Strong understanding of transport regulations and best practices.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing logistical demands.
