Logistics Planner

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and analytical Logistics Planner to join their operations in Wolverhampton . You will be responsible for planning and optimizing the movement of goods, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions. This role involves coordinating with internal departments, external carriers, and customers to manage delivery schedules and resolve logistical challenges. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in planning software, and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics to contribute to the seamless flow of materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage efficient transport plans to meet delivery schedules and cost targets.
• Coordinate with carriers to book shipments and track their progress.
• Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost reduction.
• Communicate with stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teams, regarding logistics plans.
• Manage shipping documentation and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Proactively identify and resolve any logistical issues or disruptions.

Requirements

• Experience in a logistics planning or transportation coordination role.
• Proficiency in logistics planning software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Understanding of transportation modes, regulations, and supply chain operations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
