About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Logistics Planner to join their established team in Manchester . In this vital role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the movement of goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. You will work closely with transportation providers, warehouse staff, and customers to manage the entire logistics process. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule transportation routes for inbound and outbound shipments to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate with carriers and drivers to confirm pick-up and delivery times, and resolve any transit issues.
• Monitor shipment progress and provide timely updates to relevant stakeholders, including customers and internal departments.
• Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including shipping documents, invoices, and tracking information.
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for route optimization and cost savings.
• Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure smooth loading and unloading operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a logistics planning or coordination role.
• Solid understanding of transportation modes, routing, and scheduling.
• Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with various parties.
