About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Logistics Planner to join their team, primarily working remotely to support operations in Portsmouth . In this role, you will be responsible for optimising transportation routes, scheduling deliveries, and managing the flow of goods to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness. You will analyse transport data, liaise with carriers, and implement solutions to improve the overall logistics network. This position offers a great opportunity to contribute significantly to the Logistics & Warehousing sector from a flexible, remote setting, requiring strong analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily and weekly transport operations, optimising routes and loads.
• Negotiate rates and build relationships with third-party logistics providers.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any delays or issues.
• Utilise transport management systems (TMS) to track and manage all logistical activities.
• Analyse transport costs and identify opportunities for savings.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse teams, drivers, and customers regarding logistics.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Logistics Planning or Transport Planning role.
• Proficiency with transport management systems (TMS) and related software.
• Strong understanding of UK road transport regulations and logistics operations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
