About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and organized Logistics Planner to optimize their supply chain operations for the FMCG market in Norwich . This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods from production to consumers. You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating transportation and delivery operations, managing relationships with carriers, and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements. This position offers a great opportunity to play a key role in supply chain management within a fast-paced industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily transportation routes and delivery operations to meet customer demands.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams, carriers, and customers to ensure smooth execution of logistics plans.
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any delays or issues that may arise.
- Negotiate rates and terms with transportation providers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery times, and transportation costs.
- Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Requirements
- Experience in logistics planning, transportation management, or a related supply chain role, preferably in FMCG .
- Strong understanding of transportation modes , logistics networks, and distribution principles.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficiency with logistics planning software and transportation management systems (TMS) .
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for working with carriers and internal teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
