Logistics Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and organized Logistics Planner to join their team in Belfast . This hybrid role is responsible for the efficient planning and scheduling of inbound and outbound logistics operations to meet business demands while optimising costs. You will work closely with carriers, warehouse staff, and the sales team to ensure seamless coordination and timely delivery of goods. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, contributing to the overall efficiency of the supply chain through a blend of remote and office-based work.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop optimal logistics plans and schedules for transportation of goods, considering cost, time, and capacity.
• Negotiate and manage relationships with transportation providers to secure competitive rates and service levels.
• Monitor and analyse transportation costs, identifying areas for savings and efficiency improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, warehousing, and customer service, to meet logistical needs.
• Utilise logistics planning software to forecast, schedule, and track shipments effectively.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Logistics Planning or similar role within the supply chain industry.
• Strong understanding of transportation modes, routing, and logistics software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, managing tasks remotely and in the Belfast office.
