About the Role
Our client is seeking a versatile and experienced Maintenance Engineer to support their manufacturing operations in Wolverhampton . This role is essential for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of all plant machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for diagnosing and rectifying faults, performing planned preventative maintenance, and implementing improvements to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate possesses strong electrical and mechanical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all production machinery and facility equipment to minimize breakdowns.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults on a wide range of industrial machinery.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and ensure rapid resolution to restore production.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and time taken.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and reducing maintenance costs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, PLCs, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in fault diagnosis and repair techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., HNC, HND) or apprenticeship.
