About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician specializing in marine equipment to serve the Portsmouth area. This role is critical for ensuring the operational readiness and longevity of specialized machinery used in marine environments. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, ensuring all equipment meets stringent performance and safety standards. This is a hands-on position requiring mechanical and electrical expertise, ideal for an individual passionate about maintaining complex systems in a challenging yet rewarding sector like Installation & Maintenance , based within the Hampshire naval hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on marine-specific equipment and systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in demanding conditions.
- Perform necessary adjustments, replacements, and calibrations to ensure optimal equipment function.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and industry best practices specific to marine environments.
- Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Work collaboratively with vessel crews and site management to schedule and execute maintenance tasks effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, with specific experience on marine or heavy industrial equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Proficiency with a range of diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment.
- Good problem-solving skills and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Willingness to work on-site in Portsmouth and potentially travel to nearby port facilities.
