About the Role

Our client, a specialist in commercial catering equipment, is seeking a skilled Commercial Kitchen Equipment Technician to join their team based in Portsmouth . This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of professional kitchen appliances, including ovens, grills, fryers, and refrigeration units. You will be responsible for ensuring that essential kitchen equipment remains operational for hospitality businesses throughout the region. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent technical abilities and a strong commitment to customer service, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations in the Portsmouth area and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair a variety of commercial kitchen appliances , adhering to manufacturer specifications.
• Diagnose and rectify faults in gas, electric, and refrigeration systems found in catering equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
• Maintain detailed service records, including parts used and work completed.
• Respond to emergency call-outs to minimise downtime for critical kitchen operations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Gas Safety regulations and electrical safety standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a technician working with commercial catering equipment .
• Relevant Gas Safe qualifications (e.g., COMCAT 1, 3, 5) are highly desirable.
• Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must possess a full UK driving license for travel throughout Portsmouth and Hampshire.
