Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join their manufacturing facility in Plymouth . This critical role involves ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of all production machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing faults, and implementing solutions to minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system faults efficiently.
• Install, test, and commission new equipment as required.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to guide repair and maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance performed, including parts used and time spent.
• Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to output.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and ideally pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex machinery faults.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics.
• A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and problem-solving.
• Relevant technical qualifications or certifications are highly desirable.
