Job Description
Position: Maintenance Technician (Maintenance Engineer)
Contract or perm: Contract
Location: Derby
Rate: £21.74 Paye £29.11 Umbrella
Overtime: £27.18 Paye £36.10 Umbrella (applied for any additional shifts)
Shifts and average hours: 4 on 4 off days and nights (average of 40 hours per week)
Other benefits: Potential to go perm and potential for progression

Job description
This position entails carrying out routine and safety-critical maintenance on rolling stock in accordance with required standards and procedures.
Working effectively as part of a team to maintain fleet reliability, availability, and operational performance.
Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed to a high standard, supporting the safe operation of rolling stock and the safety of passengers.
Key responsibilities
Completing routine Exams (train safety checks) Removal and refitting of heavy mechanical components such as axles or cardan shafts Working to detailed written work instructions Working to high level safety critical standards Basic electrical tests and component changes Working in adherence to stringent site HSE standards Reactive maintenance where applicable Essential qualifications and skills:
NVQ Level 3 in mechanical or electrical Mechanical maintenance experience. Basic electrical principles understanding Computer literate (to complete software upgrades) Fit and able to complete heavy dirty mechanical work Able to work a 24/7 shift pattern Industries or skill sets considered: Rail, Rolling Stock, Automotive, Aviation, SPM, FMCG, Mechanical Maintenance, Mechanical Fitting, Modifications Technician, Electrician, Mechanic, Avionics Tech, Electrical installation
