Management Accountant - Interim

Management Accountant | Part-Time Interim Contract Location: Nottingham Salary: £35,000-£40,000 FTE Contract: Temporary, 6 months Working arrangements: Office-based, 22.5-24 hours per week across 5 days, with flexibility around daily hours

SF Partners is recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant to join an established business on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who can take ownership of core management accounting duties and provide reliable support through month-end.

The role would suit a part-qualified accountant or someone qualified by experience (QBE) who is confident working independently, has strong Excel skills and can hit the ground running in a busy finance team.

The role will include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss and balance sheet reporting.
• Posting journals, accruals and prepayments, alongside completing control account reconciliations.
• Maintaining fixed asset and tool hire schedules.
• Investigating and explaining variances across margins, overheads, budgets and forecasts.
• Preparing supplier BACS payments and submitting quarterly VAT returns.
• Providing financial analysis to support pricing, cost control and profitability.
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes, audit requirements and ongoing improvements to financial systems and reporting.

About you

• Previous experience in a hands-on management accounting role, including preparing management accounts.
• Part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or qualified by experience.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP or similar lookup formulas.
• Confident using finance systems, with Sage 200 experience particularly desirable.
• Analytical, organised and comfortable working to deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Able to communicate financial information clearly and work effectively with colleagues across the business.
