Management Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated Management Accountant to join their finance team in Cardiff . This role will focus on providing crucial management information to support strategic decision-making across the business. You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and driving efficiency within financial processes. The ideal candidate will be proactive, analytical, and possess strong business acumen, eager to make a tangible impact in a growing company. This is a pivotal role that bridges the gap between financial data and operational strategy, offering significant exposure to senior management.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, commentary, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Develop and manage the annual budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department heads.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing actionable insights to management.
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial models for new projects and business initiatives.
• Manage the fixed asset register and ensure accurate depreciation calculations.
• Contribute to the improvement of financial reporting systems and processes for enhanced efficiency and control.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or newly qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent relevant experience.
• Proven experience in a management accounting role, with a strong understanding of financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Proactive and self-motivated with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
