Management Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Management Accountant to join their finance department in Cardiff . This role is crucial for providing insightful financial information to support strategic decision-making across the business. You will be responsible for management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, playing a key role in driving financial performance and efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and present timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Develop and manage the annual budget process and rolling forecasts.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis , investigating discrepancies and providing explanations to management.
• Support the implementation and improvement of financial systems and processes.
• Assist in ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required by the senior management team.
• Ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting accuracy.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or newly qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA).
• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a management accounting or similar role.
• Strong understanding of management accounting principles and practices.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
