Management Accountant

About the Role

Our client, a well-established logistics company operating in Portsmouth , is looking for a diligent and proactive Management Accountant to join their finance team. This role is vital for providing timely and accurate financial information to support operational and strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for a range of management accounting duties, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, ensuring that financial processes are efficient and effective within the company's operations. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and regular forecasting updates.
• Analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, investigating and reporting on significant variances.
• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and reports to track project profitability and operational efficiency.
• Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
• Support the finance team with ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required by senior management.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACMA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management accounting role.
• Strong understanding of management accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills are essential.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet reporting deadlines.
