About the Role
Our client, a well-established logistics company operating in Portsmouth , is looking for a diligent and proactive Management Accountant to join their finance team. This role is vital for providing timely and accurate financial information to support operational and strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for a range of management accounting duties, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, ensuring that financial processes are efficient and effective within the company's operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to a growing business in a key port city, working within a supportive and collaborative office setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and regular forecasting updates.
- Analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, investigating and reporting on significant variances.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and reports to track project profitability and operational efficiency.
- Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required by senior management.
Requirements
- Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACMA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management accounting role.
- Strong understanding of management accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet reporting deadlines.
