Management Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive Management Accountant to strengthen their finance department in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is essential for providing key financial insights that support strategic decision-making across the business. You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and analysing financial performance to identify trends and opportunities. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative team environment, contributing to the company's financial health and operational efficiency, offering a blend of in-office and remote working flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis against budget and forecast.
• Develop and manage the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
• Analyse financial data to provide insights and recommendations to operational managers.
• Assist in the preparation of financial models for new business initiatives and investments.
• Maintain and improve financial reporting systems and processes to enhance efficiency.
• Support the Financial Controller with ad-hoc financial projects and analysis as required.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or newly qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrable experience in management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable liaising with non-finance stakeholders.
