Job Description
Job Title: Management Accountant Location: Hull Salary: £32,000 - £37,000 DOE
Consortium Professional Recruitment are delighted to be working exclusively with an established and growing Hull-based business to recruit a Management Accountant.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys the hands-on side of accounting, takes pride in getting the numbers right and wants to be part of a close-knit, supportive team.
Offering a varied workload with plenty of ownership, you'll be responsible for preparing financial information, managing reconciliations and investigating discrepancies, alongside supporting the wider accounts function. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute ideas and help improve existing processes.
The Opportunity:
As a Management Accountant, you'll play a key role in:
Preparing year-end accounting information, reviewing financial records and ensuring accounts are accurate and complete. Completing bank reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving accounting queries. Preparing accruals, prepayments and supporting schedules, working closely with external accountants. Managing a range of day-to-day accounting activities, including invoicing, payments, credit control and account administration. Taking ownership of allocated accounts, supporting colleagues and identifying opportunities to improve processes and financial controls. You'll be joining a smaller accounts team where everyone works together, and your ability to take initiative, solve problems and contribute beyond your own responsibilities will be valued.
About You
We're looking for someone who can bring:
Strong practical accounting experience and a good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting processes. Experience with year-end preparation, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments or financial reporting. An AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent, supported by relevant hands-on experience. Good Excel skills and confidence using accounting software. Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues. A proactive, organised approach and the willingness to get involved across different areas of finance. Previous experience within a particular industry isn't essential. We're much more interested in your accounting knowledge, practical experience and willingness to learn.
The Benefits and Package:
In return, you'll enjoy:
Salary of £32,000 - £37,000 depending on experience. Monday to Friday, full-time hours. Study support for further AAT or professional qualifications. A varied role offering genuine ownership and responsibility. A friendly, supportive team environment. The opportunity to work closely with senior colleagues and contribute to process improvements. How to Apply:
This Management Accountant opportunity is being managed exclusively by Consortium Professional Recruitment, a trusted recruitment partner with a Human First approach.
