Management Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and analytical Management Accountant to join their finance department in Birmingham . This role is integral to providing key financial insights that support business decision-making. You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and reporting on management accounts. Working closely with department heads, you will help drive financial discipline and strategic initiatives across the business. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Develop and manage the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
• Analyse financial performance, identify variances, and provide commentary and recommendations.
• Create and maintain financial models to support business planning and investment appraisals.
• Support the finance team with ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial data and compliance with internal policies.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACMA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in management accounting and financial analysis.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
