Management Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance department in Birmingham . This role offers a hybrid working model, blending remote flexibility with essential in-office collaboration. You will be instrumental in providing insightful financial analysis, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and contributing to strategic financial planning. This position is key to empowering business managers with the financial data and insights they need to make informed decisions, working within a supportive team structure.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Develop and manage the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads.
• Analyse financial performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods, identifying key drivers and trends.
• Support operational teams with financial modelling and ad-hoc analysis to drive business performance.
• Maintain and improve the chart of accounts and financial reporting systems.
• Contribute to the implementation and refinement of financial controls and procedures.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Management Accountant , preferably within a fast-paced industry.
• Strong understanding of management accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
• Experience with hybrid working models and effective collaboration across dispersed teams.
