Management Accountant

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a diligent and analytical Management Accountant to join their finance department in Leeds . This role is integral to providing insightful financial information that drives operational efficiency and strategic planning. You will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts, performing variance analysis and providing explanations.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports for senior management and operational teams.
• Analyse financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial performance.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and controls.
• Ad-hoc financial analysis and project work as required by the finance department.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in a management accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to explain financial data clearly.
