Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a proficient Manufacturing Engineer for a contract position, leveraging remote work capabilities for projects based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire . This role focuses on enhancing manufacturing processes, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing new technologies to drive efficiency and product quality. You will be instrumental in analyzing production data, optimizing workflows, and collaborating with on-site teams to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute their expertise remotely to significant industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify and resolve production bottlenecks and quality issues.
• Design, implement, and validate new manufacturing equipment and production lines.
• Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Collaborate with design and R&D teams on product manufacturability and DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Manage project timelines and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

• Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering roles.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and experience with automation technologies.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and statistical process control (SPC).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and remotely.
• Effective communication skills for remote collaboration with project teams.
