About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Manufacturing Industrial Engineer to join their operational team in Belfast . This role is integral to optimizing production workflows, enhancing efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment. You will work closely with production staff and management to identify operational challenges and implement practical, effective solutions that improve productivity, quality, and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze production processes, identify bottlenecks, and develop data-backed recommendations for improvement.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and tools, such as 5S, Kanban, and value stream mapping, to eliminate waste and improve flow.
- Design and optimize workstation layouts, material handling systems, and assembly line balancing to maximize efficiency and ergonomics.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with the quality team to address product defects and implement corrective actions to enhance product quality.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, output, and cost, reporting on performance and progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in industrial engineering , specifically within a manufacturing context.
- Solid understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and their practical application.
- Proficiency in CAD software for layout design and data analysis tools for process evaluation.
- Experience with production scheduling and inventory management principles is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
