About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative team in Portsmouth . This role is vital for optimizing production processes, designing manufacturing tooling, and ensuring the efficient operation of mechanical systems within the factory. You will collaborate closely with production teams, quality control, and design engineers to implement improvements and solve manufacturing challenges. The position requires a practical, hands-on approach and a keen eye for detail, contributing to a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes and tooling for new and existing products.
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement in efficiency and quality.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues on the production line, implementing rapid and effective solutions.
• Collaborate with the design team to ensure designs are manufacturable (DFM) and cost-effective.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
• Proficiency in CAD software for tooling design and process simulation.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing techniques (e.g., machining, casting, injection molding).
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
