Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer to join their production facility in Sunderland . This role is crucial for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the smooth operation of mechanical systems within the plant. You will play a key part in troubleshooting production issues, implementing process improvements, and collaborating with the wider operations team to enhance overall output and quality. This is a hands-on position for an engineer passionate about manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize existing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues with production machinery and equipment.
• Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and automated systems.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure all processes meet regulatory and customer standards.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes.
• Participate in capital expenditure projects, including the selection and installation of new equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role, with a focus on mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of production processes , lean manufacturing principles, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with industrial machinery, automation, and process control systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software for fixture and tooling design.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing production line issues.
