About the Role
Our client is seeking a results-oriented Manufacturing Process Engineer for a challenging contract role based in Cardiff . You will be instrumental in refining and optimising the manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency. This position requires a hands-on approach, a deep understanding of manufacturing systems, and the ability to drive tangible improvements within a fast-paced production environment. You will work closely with production teams, quality assurance, and R&D to troubleshoot issues and implement best practices for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse manufacturing operations to identify areas for process optimisation and efficiency gains.
- Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies to improve product quality and reduce costs.
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions swiftly.
- Design and conduct experiments to test new materials, equipment, or process parameters.
- Document all process changes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure effective material flow and inventory management.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
- Proven expertise in process analysis, optimisation, and problem-solving within a production setting.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.
- Experience with CAD software for process and tooling design.
- Strong understanding of quality control systems and statistical analysis techniques.
