About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer for a key role within their facility in Cardiff . This position is central to enhancing the efficiency, quality, and safety of our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for analyzing existing production lines, identifying areas for optimization, and implementing robust engineering solutions. This is a contract opportunity for an individual passionate about driving operational excellence and contributing to significant process advancements in a vital Welsh industry, with the flexibility of a remote working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve yield, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Implement and manage process control systems and statistical process control (SPC) methods.
- Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions effectively.
- Collaborate with R&D and product design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process flow diagrams, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment and technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering , Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent technical field.
- Proven experience as a Process Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer in a relevant industry.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing principles, including Lean Six Sigma .
- Experience with process simulation software and data analysis techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
