Manufacturing Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join their production team in Belfast . This role focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of integrated manufacturing systems that drive efficiency, quality, and automation on the factory floor. You will work closely with production, engineering, and IT teams to ensure seamless operation of advanced manufacturing technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both mechanical and software systems within an industrial context, and a passion for optimizing automated processes. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage automated manufacturing systems and production lines.
• Develop and maintain control systems, PLCs, and SCADA interfaces.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to manufacturing equipment and software.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production failures and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product introductions and process validation.
• Monitor system performance, identify areas for optimization, and implement improvements.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering , Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a systems focus.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing systems engineering or automation.
• Proficiency with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA systems.
• Understanding of robotics , automation principles, and industrial network protocols.
• Experience with data acquisition and analysis for manufacturing processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a complex technical environment.
