About the Role

Our client, a leader in the marine industry, is seeking a skilled Marine Electrical Engineer to join their team in Portsmouth . This role involves the design, installation, and maintenance of sophisticated electrical and electronic systems on board vessels and marine structures. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical power systems, navigation systems, and communication equipment for marine applications.
• Install, test, and commission electrical systems on new builds and refit projects.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults on vessels, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Ensure all electrical installations comply with classification society rules and maritime regulations.
• Collaborate with naval architects and shipbuilders on system integration and design optimization.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical installations, modifications, and repair history.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related marine technology field.
• Proven experience as an electrical engineer within the maritime or offshore industry.
• Knowledge of marine electrical standards (e.g., DNV, Lloyds Register).
• Familiarity with marine power generation, distribution, and control systems.
• Experience with marine navigation and communication electronics is highly desirable.
• Strong practical skills and ability to work effectively at sea or in a shipyard environment in Portsmouth .
