About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Marine Equipment Technician to join their installation and maintenance team in the coastal city of Plymouth, Devon, UK . This role is critical for the upkeep and operational readiness of specialized marine equipment used by our clients in the maritime sector. You will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and repair of a variety of marine systems, ensuring they meet rigorous performance and safety standards. This hands-on position requires a keen understanding of marine mechanics and electrical systems, as well as a dedication to quality workmanship in a demanding, often challenging, environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and commission new marine equipment and systems as per specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing on engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in marine machinery.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment compliance with maritime regulations.
• Maintain detailed service records and inventory of spare parts.
• Respond to urgent repair needs, potentially involving travel to vessel locations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Marine Equipment Technician or similar role with specific marine focus.
• Strong knowledge of marine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals for marine applications.
• Proficiency with specialized tools and diagnostic equipment used in the maritime industry.
• A commitment to high standards of safety and quality workmanship.
• Must possess a valid UK driving license and be able to work flexibly around maritime schedules.
