About the Role

You will work on vessels and at dockside facilities, ensuring that critical equipment is operational and meets stringent safety and performance standards. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on marine engines, generators, and associated systems.
• Install, calibrate, and commission marine electronic equipment, including navigation, communication, and sonar systems.
• Conduct thorough inspections of deck machinery, hydraulic systems, and safety equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, often in challenging marine environments.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant maritime regulations, safety standards, and client specifications.
• Maintain detailed records of all service, maintenance, and repair activities performed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Marine Technician , Engineer, or in a similar technical role within the maritime sector.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems common on marine vessels.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, specialized marine equipment, and general workshop tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals relevant to marine equipment.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including potential travel to different ports or working aboard vessels in the Plymouth area and beyond.
• Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in marine engineering, electrical systems, or a related discipline are essential.
