About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and hands-on Marine Equipment Technician to join their specialized team in the vibrant port city of Plymouth . Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair a variety of marine equipment, including engines, navigation systems, pumps, and hydraulic machinery.
• Perform diagnostic checks and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on vessels and associated equipment.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance as per schedules and manufacturer guidelines.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals to guide work.
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with maritime safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance, repair activities, and parts used.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Marine Technician , Mechanical Fitter, or in a similar hands-on engineering role, ideally with marine exposure.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems relevant to marine applications.
• Ability to work with specialized tools and diagnostic equipment common in the marine industry.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a dockside or on-board environment.
• A valid UK driving license and willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends if required.
