Maths - Second in Department

Archbishop Blanch Church of England High School, part of the Belong Church of England Multi Academy Trust, is seeking to appoint an exceptional and ambitious Second in Mathematics to join our successful and thriving Mathematics Department.

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding classroom practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey, or for an experienced middle leader looking to further develop their impact within a supportive and forward-thinking school.

Working alongside the Head of Mathematics, you will play a key role in leading teaching and learning, driving standards and achievement, and developing an engaging and ambitious curriculum. You will have responsibility for a Key Stage and will lead on enrichment opportunities that inspire a love of mathematics beyond the classroom.

We are seeking a teacher who:

Is an outstanding practitioner with a proven record of success in teaching Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4 and has high expectations of achievement, behaviour and engagement. The right candidate will have strong curriculum knowledge and a passion for improving outcomes for all learners, is committed to professional development, collaboration and sharing best practice and supports and promotes the Christian ethos and values of the school.

As Second in Mathematics, you will:

Support the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Mathematics Department and lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum for a designated Key Stage.

• Monitor student progress and attainment, implementing effective intervention strategies where required and support staff development through coaching, mentoring and collaborative planning. You will develop exciting enrichment opportunities, competitions and wider curriculum experiences that encourage students to enjoy and excel in Mathematics.
