Mechanical Assembler
Location: Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire Shift Pattern: 7am - 3pm Monday to Friday
Hourly Rate: £19.52 PAYE Hours: 40 hours per week (average) Duration: Ongoing Start Date: November Assessment day 14th and 20th of October
Company Overview
My client is recruiting a large team of Mechanical assemblers to support the build of London's new train fleet. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a major UK rail manufacturing programme, contributing to the production of the latest generation of London Underground rolling stock.
Successful candidates will work from a modern manufacturing facility in Goole, purpose-built to support this high-profile project.
Position Summary
As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will play a key role in the assembly and installation of mechanical components, assemblies and train interiors. You will work to strict quality and safety standards, ensuring all work is completed in line with engineering specifications and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Mounting components, units and pre-assemblies Mechanical assembly of components and sub-assemblies Carrying out preparation work including drilling, grinding and riveting Pipe fitting and bonding activities Completing production and quality documentation using paper-based or digital systems Using pneumatic, hydraulic and other fitting systems Following production instructions and using the correct tooling at all times Conducting quality, visual and functionality inspections Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all site procedures
The ideal candidate will have: A Level 3 Mechanical qualification or equivalent 18 months + Experience within manufacturing, maintenance, overhaul, assembly, or a similar engineering environment Pipe fitting and/or bonding experience would be advantageous Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
