Mechanical Design Drafter

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Design Drafter to support their engineering team in Stoke-on-Trent . In this role, you will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed technical drawings and 3D models based on specifications provided by engineers. Your work will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy and clarity of design documentation for manufacturing and assembly. Key Responsibilities

• Create and update 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings using industry-standard software.
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, industry regulations, and client specifications.
• Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other required documentation accurately.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to clarify design intent and ensure drawing accuracy.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date drawing archives and revision control.
• Assist with the preparation of technical documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.

Requirements

• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2-4 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Drafter or CAD Technician.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
